TEACHER:
Dwight Gallagher  - has been rug hooking for over twenty years and finds it a source of enjoyment, a type of therapy giving him an opportunity to express his creativity.  Presently his main focus is landscapes and making them look realistic.  Dwight is a member of the Rug hooking Guild of Nova Scotia (RHGNS), having acted as Regional Director; serving six years on the RHGNS Executive and a term as RHGNS Rug School Director.  In 2019 Dwight received his RHGNS Teacher’s Certificate and feels we should be constantly learning something new with rug hooking.   He has taught classes at the RHGNS Rug School and elsewhere in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and has judged rugs at various Exhibitions.   Dwight dyes wool, creates patterns and bargain shops for recycled wool. When not rug hooking, Dwight likes to spend time with his wife Linda and their three grandchildren.

WORKSHOP:
A quiet country lane with lupin flowers.  Hooking this 6” x 8” piece is an opportunity for you to use some of your “wool worms” and wool strips from your stash.  For a backing, you may have a small piece that you can add extensions to fit your frame.   We will discuss hooking a lane/path, lupin flowers, tree line and ways to use a dip dyed piece of wool for a great sky effect!

PATTERN/SUPPLIES:
Dwight can send you a pattern (paper/electronic – cost $5.00 each).  He will have “bits and bobs” of wool material for you to use at your liking.  He will also bring pieces of dip dyed “sky” material (8” x 15” at a cost of $15.00) to purchase direct from him. There is also wool available for purchase at the Museum. To purchase pattern email Dwight at rughooker58@gmail.com
