When entering the museum the first room you come into is the Fibre Art Market (FAM). Over 600 hand hooked rugs fill the room, hung from the walls and stacked on tables throughout the room. There are hooked rugs made with many different fibres and many styles of hooking: Cheticamp rugs, suttle rugs, chair pads, soft fleecy rugs and traditional rugs. There are also hand-knit mittens, hats, scarves, hooked Christmas ornaments, , tea towels, coasters and numerous other consignment items.
The Fibre Art Market is continually evolving and this year we have added bookshelves, cubicles and a pattern rack to display our many books, patterns, wool and kits that we have for sale.
We have donated kits as well as our own beginner kits that we have been creating for anyone who wants to try the craft and needs a small project to start on. These kits include pattern, wool and a small hoop. We also have a selection of small Cheticamp bird, lighthouse and flower kits.
We also have a collection of books on hooking and many ATHA and Rug Hooking Magazines for sale at very reasonable prices.
