Needle Felting Workshop
GENERAL INFORMATION
DATE: Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 9:30am - 4:00pm
LOCATION: Hooked Rug Museum of North America (HRMNA)
9849 St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Hwy 3, Queensland, NS B0J 1T0 902-858-3060
TEACHER: Jayne Campbell. Rug hookers amaze me and are so very talented - so it is a great honour to come to the Museum to demonstrate and instruct a workshop in Felting, another fibre art. Felting art is an impressionist activity for me. I get to blend colours into an environment already established using a variety of values and textures to create an appealing impressionist image. When adding other natural items like twigs, beading, shells and embroidered sections, the sky is the limit.
WORKSHOP: This is an appropriate workshop for a beginner. You will learn felting on a flat surface to create designs like those pictured above. The background is a piece of 100% wool already dyed in multiple colours ready to work on and may be purchased at the Museum or you can bring your own.
