TEACHER:    Suzanne Bailly is a retired school teacher and adult/community educator who discovered hooking a few years ago. She has tried      traditional styles – not fine shading ! During Covid Suzanne discovered Winnie Glavine of Rug Hooking Workshops of Newfoundland on Zoom and became fascinated with the freedom of hooking on non traditional foundations. She has permission from Winnie to teach others this interesting experience.

WORKSHOP: To hook a design on a wire mesh basket. You will be experimenting with a rigid surface foundation. The basket will be provided as will some wool worms, etc. Suggested designs are funky fish/flowers or birdhouses. Participants may find inspiration for simple designs by searching the internet for free colouring pages and come prepared to have fun exploring a non-traditional form of hooking.

NEED TO BRING: Various weights of yarn of any type/colour. Also a few large buttons, beads as well as pieces of pleat-able fabric, roving,          ribbon, etc. The Museum will make some available at the workshop if you don’t have these in your stash. Fairly fine hook (available for purchase at the Museum ($10.00), sewing kit including scissors, glue such as Aileen’s Tacky.

COST:             Total registration fee - $100.00 - includes registration fee, some wool and the Basket.

                      Confirmation of registration upon receipt of both registration form and payment.

                      - Coffee,tea will be provided. Please bring your own lunch, snacks, cutlery and mug.
                      - Please do not bring anything with nuts due to severe allergy concerns.

CANCELLATION/REFUNDS: Deposit of $50.00 or your full payment is refundable prior to July 10th, 2023. No refunds after July 10, 2023.
